BlackBerry Storm 9500: The Iphone Killer?

The new BlackBerry Storm is the latest mobile phone from BlackBerry and the Storm is also BlackBerry's first touchscreen mobile phone. The Storm, with its slick candy bar style looks is also one of the best looking BlackBerry's and is most definitely not eye diarrhoea to look at.

The term "iPhone killer" is clumsily tossed around by bloggers and journos to describe almost any phone with a touchscreen, but by trying to actually innovate rather than imitate, RIM has conjured up the phone most deserving of the title yet. The BlackBerry Storm features a fantastic high-resolution screen and an incredibly innovative multi-touch UI. The Storm's touchscreen features what BlackBerry call ClickThrough, what this means is that you have to press down until you hear a click for it to work. So in reality, the BlackBerry Storm's screen is just one big button, cool!
The Clickthrough, changes the way you type in data into the phone. So you have to push the touchscreen like a button every time you do something. Typing with it takes some getting used to, even if you can fly on an iPhone or other touchscreen device, because you have to retrain yourself to actually lift your thumb back off of the screen to let it pop back up between every single letter. Since you can't "flow" continuously in a stream but are pounding out a series of clicks, it's hard to tell how fast you would be able to go once you're completely re-trained.
Other features of the BlackBerry Storm include a built-in GPS system, media player, 3.2MP camera, BlackBerry maps, a 3.5mm audio jack and a memory capacity that can go up to 16GB. One thing that is for sure is that the BlackBerry Storm is a media and entertainment friendly mobile phone.

Talking about the internet access the BlackBerry Storm has, EDGE, GPRS and HSDPA for super fast internet so you can get quick, no fuss access to site such as MySpace, Bebo and Facebook as well as all important fast Email access.
Though mot really an "Iphone Killer", Blackberry Storm is unquestionably a high quality mobile phone and is great value for money.
