Thanko MiniJEC1 Mini Projector

Thanko has released a new tiny projector, which measures 61 x 37 x 60mm and weighs in at just 142g. This tiny projector lets your project video from your iPhone, iPod, or PC and it can project an image up to 45 inches with a resolution of 640 x 480.

Weighing in at just 142 grams the Thanko MiniJEC1 is latest pico projector to fly out of Japan. With an almost cube like quality the Thanko MiniJEC1 pico projector still fits snugly in even the average size gadgeteer's hand and while the 200:1 contrast ratio is pretty low the resolution matches the current micro projector highest resolutions at 640×480.
The throw however is our greatest concern with this nicely designed pico, its rumored a 14 inch screen takes a distance of 60cm to produce, however this might not matter depending on the user and what its mostly projecting onto.

Finally, this Thanko MiniJEC1 pico projector is nothing new in terms of technology. Still it does have a more substantial design appeal, if they can improve on the lens and contrast ratio, then the Thanko MiniJEC1 Mini Projector maybe onto an early winner.

LG enV Touch Review

LG has come up with a new phone the "env Touch" which I feel is a diversion from LG's recent range of sweet named phones like cookie and Lollipop! Following the successful launch of phones like Voyager, LG has released the LG enV Touch, which is the new and improved successor to the Voyager (despite the enV name).

The enV Touch is much improved over the Voyager, but still has the similar clamshell form-factor with internal QWERTY keyboard. Both displays are now 3" diagonal, with WVGA 480x800 resolution and support up to 1.6 million colors. You can really see the difference. Naturally, the external display is touch-sensitive, but seems to require more pressure than the LG Versa, about the same amount as the LG Dare.

Talking about the features of this wonderful phone, LG env Touch comes with a side clamshell form factor ,non-touch 3-inch display, Full Qwerty keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, Bluetooth and slot micro SD.
The QWERTY keyboard in LG env Touch has undergone a few changes, and now has a single space key in the middle, instead of two on either side. The keyboard buttons also more curved around the edges and the d-pad is slightly larger. The camera is now up to 3MP and features auto focus, LED flash, and a Schneider Kreuznach lens.
All in all, the LG enV Touch is a worthy successor to the Voyager. The handset’s feature-set gets a fair amount of upgrades, so if you owned the original Voyager, you’ll be happy to see the new upgrades. The handset is available for $149.99 after a $70 rebate and 2 year agreement.

Nikon D3x Digital SLR Camera Review

The all new treat for Photographers is the Nikon D3X. The Nikon D3X is a 24.5-megapixel FX-format (35.9 x 24.0mm) CMOS sensor digital SLR camera. The Nikon D3X Digital SLR Camera features Nikon EXPEED image processing technologies, ISO 50-6400, Two Live View shooting modes, 5 fps at full FX-format resolution continuous shooting, 51-point AF system, 3D Color Matrix Metering II with Scene Recognition System, 100% viewfinder coverage, Rugged, durable and precise magnesium-alloy construction, Dual CF card slots with overflow, backup and copy options, Up to 4,400 images per battery charge, and 3-inch super-density 920,000-dot VGA LCD monitor.

All these loads of features make it the right mate for a passionate Photographer. he body, controls, user interface and also a large proportion of the camera's electronic and mechanical innards have been carried over directly from the D3. The camera's core component, however, is brand new. The 36 x 23.9 mm CMOS sensor provides a resolution of 24.5 megapixels, and while this is - compared to the D3 - a massive jump in resolution, D3X users have to accept a smaller range of sensitivity (ISO 100 to 1600, extendable to ISO 50 to 6400) and slower continuous shooting of five frames per second (7 fps in DX mode) in return. While the only other piece of news - the 'Extra High' setting for Active D-Lighting - won't make much difference for most users, the premium that Nikon is charging for the extra resolution most certainly will. For $8000 retail price you can bag yourself almost two D3s. The D3X is also roughly $1500 more expensive than its only real competitor in terms of specification and features, the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III.

In a nutshell, The NIkon D3x is a stunning camera that pushes the boundaries of DSLR performance to a new level. It isn’t perfect, though, in particular, the omission of any form of built-in dust control is a major disappointment.

Zune Mp3 Player

Zune is Microsoft's stepping stone into the Mp3 players world. Zune has a 3inch LCD video screen, wireless music sharing and a build in FM radio. Well, there are not many surprises in Zune but as the player is built by Microsoft, many people will surely buy it. The basic model launched is of 30GB HDD with video playback feature inbuilt. The screen resolution is QVGA and the codec support is quite good. It supports h.264, MP3, AAC and WMA. The wireless Zune to Zune sharing is an exciting feature in Zune and works pretty well. Some extra inbuilt features such as sharing playlists and photos with your friends.

Zune is available in three colors, Black, Brown and White.

It can also play usual un-protected content (MP3, AAC), but also play only protected content from Microsoft new Zune Marketplace.

Some disadvantages with Zune are that it is not compatible with previous Windows Media Player based music stores like Napster, and also it not compatible with Macs. If you consider the 80GB HDD Zune player, obviously the cost rises but has no warranty from Microsoft. It has the same dimension as the 30GB Zune. But the point is that the 80GB players are not sold out in retail stores. Well there might be some answers to the question.

A protective metal casing must be removed from inside the Zune to install the thicker 80GB drive. This casing shields the drive against crushing forces that may occur when the drive is stepped on, sat on, or otherwise abused. The Zune design team may have felt removing this piece would jeopardize the structural integrity of the player. On the other hand, perhaps they kept the drive small to allow for a lower price point and a future development path for a larger capacity Zune 2.0 device. Around 7000 songs can be added in the 30GB Zune but movies takes lot of space than MP3’s. A 30GB Zune may hold around 25 full length movies at best. In the 80GB player, around 70 full length movies can be added.

HTC Touch Pro2 Mobile Phone

HTC has announced a new version of its HTC Touch Pro handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona bringing with it a host of new features aimed at convincing business users to move away from their BlackBerrys.


The new handset, that will sport a thinner, more curvier design, will come with a 3.6-inch WVGA touch screen that slides out and stands upright as well as a slide out five row qwerty keyboard. The connectivity features of HTC Touch Pro2 Mobile Phone is worth a note. With HSDPA (7.2Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm processor (MSM7201a, 528 MHz), although not a Snapdragon one as sported by Toshiba and its TG01. Users can enjoy 512MB of ROM, 288MB of RAM and storage for files provided by microSD card.One wont have any fear of getting lost in the wild with the HTC Touch Pro2 Mobile Phone. GPS and A-GPS will help with direction finding while photos can be captured with the 3.2-megapixel auto-focus snapper on the back.


HTC Touch Pro2 Mobile Phone runs an enriched version of Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, rather than the yet to be announced 6.5 OS that promises a number of new software innovations that users won't find elsewhere.
HTC Touch Pro has an all new conferencing feature. Turning the phone face down on the desk will allow you to turn the device into a portable voice conferencing system. Sporting two asymmetric (not the same size) speakers and full-duplex support, the service will allow business folk to hold mini confabs from their phone rather than having to rely on one of those triangle phone things you find in the office.


The HTC Touch Pro2 will be available across major global markets beginning in early summer. No word on prices as yet.
