HTC Hero - The Flash Android Phone

Andorioid phones are flooding the market of mobile phones these days. Mobile phone developers are competing with one another to bring out the best Android phone so far. There seems to have developed a wild goose chase in the development of Android phones. Turning a new leaf in the book of Android Phones is the all new HTC Hero.

The HTC Hero is HTC's third handset to be powered by the android operating system. Announced at a press event in London in June, the HTC Hero is one of the best spec'd HTC Android devices to be launched across Europe. The HTC Hero is a purely touchscreen device that features a 3.2-inch TFT-LCD display with a 320 x 480 resolution, 5 mega-pixel auto-focus camera, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a custom built HTC user interface.

Like the T-Mobile G1 and Google Ion/HTC Magic, the HTC Hero has the signature curve at the bottom, but it's a bit more svelte at 4.4 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide and 0.5 inch thick. In addition, it features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen with an antifingerprint screen coating.
However, the real beauty of the smartphone lies beneath the surface. The new Sense UI allows users to customize the device to their needs and give them more access to the information they want at a glance through widgets, customized profiles, and consolidated views of all communication with a contact, whether it be e-mail, text or multimedia message, Facebook status updates, or photos. In addition, HTC said that all of its future devices will use Sense UI.

HTC Hero delivers a more complete web browsing experience and allows mobile users to access a broad variety of Adobe Flash technology based content available on the web today. As the first Android device with Flash, the new HTC Hero represents a key milestone for Android and the Flash Platform. With close to 80 percent of all videos online delivered with Adobe Flash technology, consumers want to access rich Web content on-the-go. Search just about anything, anywhere on your HTC Hero. The dedicated Search button combs through tweets in Twitter, locates people in your contact list, finds emails in your inbox, searches through appointments in the calendar and very nearly finds needles in haystacks.

Detailed Specification Of HTC Hero:
  • Qualcomm's MSM7200A proc running Android at 528MHz

MyDeskFriend Robot Penguin - Your Window To Facebook

Social networking is the buzz word in this age and people are looking out for better ways to stay connected to their buddies thorough the social networking sites. Robots and other devices linked to social networking sites aren't exactly anything new, but few have been in the form of tiny robot penguins, and even fewer have been tiny robot penguins with hats. That bit of mold-breaking comes courtesy of upstart Arimaz of Switzerland, which is now busy showing off its MyDeskFriend "Facebook companion" that's set for release this September. This Peniguin Robot is able to mosey about your desk without falling off and react to your voice like any good robot, but its real secret is that it can connect to Facebook and read your messages, or even be controlled (some may say tormented) by your real Facebook friends.

The web-connected mydeskfriend will be able to connect to your Facebook account and read your messages and your feeds, in a robotic voice I assume. Your friends will also be able to interact with it via Facebook, thereby avoiding interacting with you. So it’s a friend middleman.
As everyone knows, eyes are the window to a persons emotions. Eyes reflect the feel of the person. Taking this universal truth into robots too, the MyDeskFriend Robot Penguin can express the feeling with its eye.! Yes! Believe it or not, eyes change colors to convey its mood, for example yellow to convey happiness and red when its in a bad mood. It can also do other robot stuff, like move around and follow your finger.

The MyDeskFriend Robot Penguin has 5 infrared sensors that prevent it from careening off the precipice that is the computer desk, which has supposedly become the favorite hangout of an increasing number of humans, all of them hungry for interaction and companionship, not realizing that its because they stay in front of their damn computers for so long that they lack company. The mydeskfriend has certain “needs”, like food, exercise and “meds”, and you and your friends can attend to it via Facebook. The robot also responds to touch, like poking or shaking, as well as voice commands. Its software will supposedly allow its “personality” to evolve over time.

Arimaz, the company behind mydeskfriend, is entertaining the possibility of licensing the technology behind the toy so that there’ll be more robots for everyone. The MyDeskFriend Robot Penguin will be available in September for $99 .

Father's Day

Heyya are you all preparing to surprise your father on Father's Day this year? Then I am one of you too :). Father's Day is a day honoring fathers, celebrated on the third Sunday of June in the United States and on various other days in many places around the world. It complements Mother's Day, the celebration honoring mothers.

Father's Day has its roots in a Celebration organised in the 20th Century so as to complement Mothers's Day. This Celebration was organised so as to celebrate fatherhood and male parenting, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities.

Nowadays celebrations have become common place for all festivals. None of the festival is left uncelebrated. Making use of this practice are the gift and card producers. So for fathers day too, shops have come up with a whole lot of concessions and offers on their services so as to impress one's loved dad. Among the various services on offer for this special occasion are "A Dad and Son combo meal at half rate" and many more. :). Sounds alluring! Still the point is the commercialization of down to earth celebrations. Gone are those days when one used to prepare a card or a bouquet all on their own with specially collected flowers for their loved ones. These days one prefers ready made cards and bouquets available at stores, that can be bought in a jiffy. Still the existence of such celebrations lets one rejoice the joy of Father child relationships and express the unconditional love, that forms the basis for all relationships.

The iTunes Error 5002

iTunes and Apple iPod are like the Siamese twins of the gadget industry. iPod ia one of the most popular and cherished mp3 players and the Apple iTunes complements as a very good interface software for the iPod making the iPod the most easy to use mp3 player.

But great things do go wrong at times and there have been a lot of errors encouneterd with iPod as well as iTunes. The most prevalant error with iTunes is the iTunes Error 5002. Since 2005, the iTunes Error 5002 has been around. The fix to iTunes Error 5002 is already available but Error 5002 just won’t go away even with iTunes 8.
So lets now know what the iTunes Error 5002 is all about. If you’re shopping in iTunes using their built-in shopping cart and get Error 5002, then you’re definitely stuck in one step and no longer can complete your transaction/s. For most users, this is annoying and confusing. Some ask “Was my purchase made?”, “Was my transaction successful?” The simple answer is most likely NO. Some people who have experienced or encountered iTunes Error 5002 claimed that though they were were stuck in one window, their credit cards have been charged but no download was made available for them, which is the logical next move if the transaction really succeeded. So now we can realise why the iTunes Error 5002 is believed to be the most grave error in iTunes. With money and transcations, a single error too is mind boggling.

So, if you ever come across this error and are groping a way out then it would be useful for you to go through the following forum posts:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2308168&#2308168
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1856767&tstart=0.

I belive that Apple is trying hard to pluck this worm out of its sweet fruit. So lets wait and watch if the newer versions of iTunes could make the The iTunes Error 5002 a history.

Archos 3 MP3 Player

Archos has presented the Archos 3, a new portable media player. The ARCHOS 3 vision is the latest in a new line of MP3 players, with an impressive 3” tactile screen that covers the whole surface of the device. You can access all your favorite features with the brand new virtual wheel selector, which provides a whole new browsing sensation. No matter where you are in the media library your favorite feature is only a spin away.

The Archos 3 vision is extremely compact and lightweight and will easily fit in pretty much any kind of pocket. Yet it’s so pretty you may want to show it off instead of hiding it there.

Compared to the successors Archos 5 and Archos 7, this version Archos 3 is less complicated on the interface factor. The Archos 3 also provides you with an integrated FM tuner, digital clock and audio recorder to record voices to its 8GB storage.

The revolutionary feature incorporated into Archos 3 Mp3 Player is the “virtual wheel” selector which supposedly makes navigating straightforward. It’s unclear whether the wheel is an on-screen thing, perhaps a translucent overlay, or involves what looks to be a touch-sensitive button on the lower front panel. Finally coming to the quintessential factor - storage, Archos 3 MP3 Player provides a storage of 8 GB that can store up to 4000 songs. The battery life is said to be 4 hours and it is said that the player will be priced around 100$.

Thanko MiniJEC1 Mini Projector

Thanko has released a new tiny projector, which measures 61 x 37 x 60mm and weighs in at just 142g. This tiny projector lets your project video from your iPhone, iPod, or PC and it can project an image up to 45 inches with a resolution of 640 x 480.

Weighing in at just 142 grams the Thanko MiniJEC1 is latest pico projector to fly out of Japan. With an almost cube like quality the Thanko MiniJEC1 pico projector still fits snugly in even the average size gadgeteer's hand and while the 200:1 contrast ratio is pretty low the resolution matches the current micro projector highest resolutions at 640×480.
The throw however is our greatest concern with this nicely designed pico, its rumored a 14 inch screen takes a distance of 60cm to produce, however this might not matter depending on the user and what its mostly projecting onto.

Finally, this Thanko MiniJEC1 pico projector is nothing new in terms of technology. Still it does have a more substantial design appeal, if they can improve on the lens and contrast ratio, then the Thanko MiniJEC1 Mini Projector maybe onto an early winner.

LG enV Touch Review

LG has come up with a new phone the "env Touch" which I feel is a diversion from LG's recent range of sweet named phones like cookie and Lollipop! Following the successful launch of phones like Voyager, LG has released the LG enV Touch, which is the new and improved successor to the Voyager (despite the enV name).

The enV Touch is much improved over the Voyager, but still has the similar clamshell form-factor with internal QWERTY keyboard. Both displays are now 3" diagonal, with WVGA 480x800 resolution and support up to 1.6 million colors. You can really see the difference. Naturally, the external display is touch-sensitive, but seems to require more pressure than the LG Versa, about the same amount as the LG Dare.

Talking about the features of this wonderful phone, LG env Touch comes with a side clamshell form factor ,non-touch 3-inch display, Full Qwerty keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, Bluetooth and slot micro SD.
The QWERTY keyboard in LG env Touch has undergone a few changes, and now has a single space key in the middle, instead of two on either side. The keyboard buttons also more curved around the edges and the d-pad is slightly larger. The camera is now up to 3MP and features auto focus, LED flash, and a Schneider Kreuznach lens.
All in all, the LG enV Touch is a worthy successor to the Voyager. The handset’s feature-set gets a fair amount of upgrades, so if you owned the original Voyager, you’ll be happy to see the new upgrades. The handset is available for $149.99 after a $70 rebate and 2 year agreement.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Camera

It is always believed that sharing knowledge and combinational effort always gives good results, and that is the point with the all new Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Camera. In July 2005 Konica Minolta and Sony entered into a treaty that focused on technology sharing between the electronics and photography giants. The treaty stated that they were to jointly develop digital SLR cameras. This agreement hinted at shared technology between the two companies such as auto focus, metering and Anti-Shake coming from Konica Minolta and sensors, electronics and batteries from Sony.
It was believed that this is the beginning of a new era of photography products combining excellence in technology and accessory features. But to everyone's surprise, some six months later Konica Minolta announced that they were withdrawing from the camera business and had transferred certain camera assets including the Maxxum/Dynax lens mount and related SLR technologies to Sony.Almost a year on since that first announcement we have the new Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, a compact, ten megapixel (CCD) digital SLR with a (Konica) Minolta lens mount, Anti-Shake (now Super SteadyShot) and a definite cross-breed appearance. It's fair to say that while this camera may share some components with previous Konica Minolta digital SLR's Sony's involvement has brought external styling, build quality and finish up to a higher standard. The lens mount is to be called the 'Alpha mount' and Sony has announced no less than 19 lenses which will carry the Sony Alpha branding (although many are based on existing Minolta lenses).

Features Of Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Camera :
  • Sony Alpha lens mount.
  • 10 megapixel APS-C CCD.
  • Anti-Blur.
  • Anti-Dust.
  • Bionz Image Processor.
  • Eye Start AF.
  • Continuous shooting until media full.
  • 40 segment honeycomb pattern metering.
  • 2.5" 230,000 pixel 'Clear Photo LCD Plus' monitor.
  • Lithium-Ion battery.
  • Support for Memory Stick Duo cards via included adapter.
  • Higher resolution LCD display

Carried away by the awesome features and planning to get yourself a Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Camera? Then you'll be glad to know that the Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 Camera is available from 400$.

E3: New Sony PS3 motion controller

Soon after Microsoft's announcement of its new technology - the controller-free control system called Project Natal, Sony has announced its rivalry gadget, the new "Motion Controller for Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3)". The Motion Controller for PS3 works in a similar way to Nintendo’s Wii controller.

There is a sensor that sits on top of the TV and detects the position, distance and movement of two controllers held in a user’s hand, which sound strongly similar to the functionality of Wii motes in Nintendo Wii. The device can measure where the controllers are in relation to each other and how close they are to the sensor, aiming to create a true 3D movement within a game.

Sony PlayStation Controller is also capable for, enabling users to wield weapons, fire a bow and arrow, write on screen and manipulate objects in a virtual environment. The new Motion Controller will be available from spring 2010.
